Ice Hockey Victoria - Winter Draft 

The draft is an equalisation strategy used by Ice Hockey Victoria (IHV) to maintain a balanced competition.
The draft is open to all ice hockey players (18 years or older before 31 December of the drafting year) as described in the IHV Game Administration Regulations.
Players who turn 17 on/before 31 December of the drafting year may apply for dispensation in line with the conditions noted in the IHV Game Administration Regulations.

There are 4 divisions in the Winter Competition:
Premier-A - checking league - open to male players only (except for goaltenders)
Senior-B - non-checking league - open to all players
Senior-C - non-checking league - open to all players
Senior-D - non-checking league - open to all players

Anyone interested in entering this competition should familiarise themselves with the Game Regulations, Bylaws and understand that IHV ice hockey is played under IIHF Rules. 
No person will be eligible for the draft if they have outstanding debt to a member club, IHV or a club affiliated with another league or association as advised by IHA.
A person drafted to a club will be expected to pay IHA/IHV registration and club fees of that club as required.

Players from overseas wishing to play Premier A may require an International Transfer Card (ITC) obtained via IIHF.
This process can be conducted prior to the commencement of the season and is at your own cost.
Information on ITC can be found at www.iha.org.au/transfers/. Applications are made through the IHV club secretary after you are selected.

2023 Draft

All Players nominating for the draft are expected to attend the IHV Draft Skate to be held on Monday 3rd April at O'Brien Icehouse, Docklands.
The cost of attending the Draft Skate is $25.00 - payable upon registration via our eSportsdesk registration system. 

Due to low registrations we are merging both draft skates to the 8.45pm session. 
All players that have registered for the C&D Grade 7.30pm session, are automatically moved to the 8.45pm session.

Players wanting to play Premier A, Senior B, Senior C or Senior D are to attend the on ice session from: 8.45pm - 9.45pm

Anyone unable to attend the Draft Skate for any reason will need to advise IHV via the secretary (secretary@ihv.org.au) before 5pm on 31st March 2023 and provide substantial reason for non-attendance.
Evidence may be requested of the reason given. Failure to provide a reasonable explanation as determined by IHV may result in exclusion from the draft.

Anyone who attempts to manipulate the draft, influence any person involved or do any act that may affect the integrity of the draft may be subject to sanctions including but not limited to,
removal from the draft (individual), suspension (individual/club official) or loss of draft selection(s) (club) as determined by the IHV Executive.
